Starting ABA Services

How to get covered and start ABA?

1

The first step is to work with a licensed medical professional to perform a thorough diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder. If your child is diagnosed with autism, the medical professional may prescribe ABA therapy. Our team can help you identify the best specialized provider in your area that can work with you and your child.

2

You also need to make sure that you have a health insurance plan that covers ABA services. Some families may also qualify for Medicaid assistance. A member of our team can work with you to identify the plan that best fits your budget and needs.

3

Once a medical professional has prescribed ABA therapy services, the next step is to have one of our highly-qualified BCBAs perform an initial assessment. This will help us determine the proper treatment plan for your son or daughter, which we will work closely with you in designing.

4

We then submit everything to your insurance company and await for them to approve the treatment plan. This step may take up to two weeks. Once you’re approved, we get straight to work with you and your child.

  • Reinforcers, motivating your child’s learning.

To make it easier, reinforcers are those things ( tangibles, edibles or actions) that will keep up our child’s motivation during the learning process. Reinforcers are the most valuable tool that therapists, teachers and parents have when teaching our children. Chocolate, ice cream, tickles, money, playing with the dog, getting high fives… the list is just, as rich as individuals preferences and interests are.
